It is with deep sadness that we report the tragic loss of Bruce Jackson, a leading audio design visionary, innovator, and sound engineer. In 1985, Bruce co-founded Apogee Electronics. From the very beginning, Bruce defined the highest possible standard of excellence, a standard that became the company's hallmark even after his departure in 1992. Bruce died on January 29th, 2011 while piloting his private plane above Death Valley, California. He was a superb and highly skilled pilot. Aviation was a passion of his along with audio engineering.
From the early days of his career, it was apparent to all who worked with Bruce that he would be a leader in the evolving digital audio and live sound industry. At an early age, Bruce became a world class sound engineer sought after by the finest artists, including Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Cat Stevens, Barry White, Diana Ross and Johnny Cash.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to his family and all who have been lucky enough to have known him.
