Our January winners, Jonny Ma, who won an Apogee GiO, and Joshua Robinson, who won an Apogee ONE, were selected at random to win gear for completing our customer survey and being registered users.
Joshua Robinson is 29 years old and tours out of Chicago with different groups playing keyboards and running drum loops and effects from his Macbook Pro. "I love the instant integration with Logic when I use the Duet or the Symphony," he says. "I'm in the middle of writing and recording an album with the guitar player from Rush of Fools (rushoffools.com) and our band is called American Chaps. Look for it in 2012." Jonny Ma, who has been using an Apogee ONE for his productions for quite some time, is a guitarist and producer living in Hong Kong. His band, Sonic MSG (youtube.com/watch?v=ktAaDJ3wHLs) is a Hong Kong-based duo whose love for electronic music manifested itself through algorhythm's turntables and his guitar. "Our process is driven by sampling, jamming and grooving, with FUNK as the gel that unites rhythm with melody," he says. You can hear more of Jonny's music here: soundcloud.com/jonnyma. In December, Nate Coffey won an Apogee ONE and Glen Reid won a GiO. Nate was already a Duet user but was thrilled to win a ONE. "I LOVE MY APOGEE!" he says. "Now I can do my portable recording with the ONE. You guys Rock!!!"
Glen Reid, a singer/songwriter in Vancouver, BC, was really excited to win his Apogee GiO. Glen, who is currently working with Damn the Diva (http://www.myspace.com/damnthediva), is most notable for BMG's Bloody Chicletts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfJEW2LKCLI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmpz1AgkLMg&feature=related.
