Congratulations to our February winners, Rick Hutchinson, who won an Apogee GiO and carrying case, and Kevin Kelly, who won an Apogee ONE plus accessories, for being selected at random to win Apogee gear for completing our customer survey and being registered users. About the Winners Kevin Kelly: “As one of those early digital naysayers who spent more time than I want to admit on my knees aligning/biasing 24 track analog machines, I can truthfully say that the finest recorder/reproducer I have ever owned is my Rosetta and Pro Tools HD,” says Apogee ONE winner Kevin Kelly. "I feel like I have never worked a day in my life. Since doing Blondie’s first recordings, and then albums with Edgar Winter, Rick Wakeman, Arlen Roth and many others, feature-film music mixes for Mirimax and live concert recordings for WLIR-FM including Hall & Oates, Charlie Daniels, and the Police, I seem to have lived the first half of my work-life either behind a recording console, or with a ’64 P-Bass in my hands. Former owner Workshoppe Recording Studios NY (‘74- ’88), and an active freelancer, I am currently the coordinator (and “hands on” instructor) for the Sound Recording Technology Program at Nassau Community College, Long Island NY. Additionally, I am Chief Producer/Engineer for the Sixty Second Preview, Video Viewer and Sixty Second CD syndicated radio networks. Last, but not least, uber-proud to be Rorie Kelly’s bass player/co-producer." Check out more about Rorie Kelly here: www.roriekelly.com. Rick Hutchinson: Rick Hutchinson (aka Rick Alton) was born in New York and started playing bass as a teenager in New Jersey. His passion for the instrument – driven by a love of music from the 60s and 70s - extended to Belgium, North Dakota, Minnesota and California playing in various bands including Inner Light, Gravel Road, Silver, Fast Cat, and Who Daddy. He has appeared on many recordings and is currently working on an album with past band mates. They are working as a distributed team as they all live in different parts of the country. Rick is using the Apogee Duet to lay down bass tracks and sending them to Seattle for mixing. He woke up this morning, hit his email, and was thrilled to learn he won a prize from Apogee… he is the new proud winner of an Apogee GiO and is looking forward to incorporating the GiO into his recording gear.
