Apogee Electronics distributor, Reflexion Arts, has provided a complete AD/DA interface set-up for the recently opened O Ganho do Som, located in Lisbon, Portugal. The studio is centered around Apogee’s high quality AD&DA-16X digital converters, as a front end for a Pro Tools HD 3 DAW. The entire rig is clocked by Apogee’ s Big Ben master studio clock. For studio owner João Ganho, this is the only way to ensure full transparency while monitoring digital audio in such an unforgiving listening environment like the control room at O Ganho Do Som. Two time Grammy Award winner and ex-Decca Cheif Engineer, James Lock, is now on board at O Ganho do Som and went public stating that “with the Apogee converters, this is the best sounding mix facility in the world! I have never heard my Pavarotti recordings sound so good”.
