It’s undeniable that one of the most recognizable name brands in the world is Red Bull. Red Bull has created a complete culture around their energy drinks and young, cutting-edge fan base. Sponsoring events from extreme sports and Nascar to soap box racing and music festivals, Red Bull has positioned itself as the ‘cool’ brand that everyone wants to be associated with. Now enforcing its ‘cool’ in recorded music, Red Bull has partnered with Apogee, one of the most recognizable brands in audio, to provide the best in quality at an opportunity of a lifetime.

In 1998 Red Bull launched the Red Bull Music Academy, a musical workshop that travels the world offering classes, lectures, studio sessions and more to a select group of music makers, vocalists and DJs. Over the years the Academy has visited cities such as Berlin, Barcelona, New York City, Melbourne, Cape Town, Toronto, Sao Paulo and coming in 2010, London. Top applicants from all around the world are chosen to participate in the two week long workshop creating a collision of cultures, expertise, and musical backgrounds. Beginning in Barcelona, Apogee has been there from Duet to Symphony capturing this exciting musical experience with incredible dimension and clarity.

“At Apogee we’re proud to provide the students of the Red Bull Music Academy an opportunity to experience what we have to offer and the sound quality that thousands of producers and engineers around the world enjoy each and every day,” states Patrick Greppi of Apogee.

In each city the Academy builds an entire educational facility from the ground up filled with two full size recording studios and nine ‘bedroom’ studios designed to emulate a casual home recording setting. For the 2008 Barcelona edition, Apogee and the Academy teamed up to equip nearly every studio with Apogee converters. Now for the 2010 London academy, Apogee will be providing a Symphony System with X-Series converters, two Ensemble’s and six Duet’s allowing the students to experience the finest in digital audio conversion and Apple integration.

Erik Breuer, a member of the Academy’s Studio Team and the chief studio designer states, “As a Logic user I couldn’t imagine a better system than Apogee’s Symphony System. Combined with a MacPro, there is really no need for any extra DSP power, and I found it to be better sounding and more stable than any other system.” He continues, “We also had Ensemble and Duet units setup in some of the bedroom studios, which turned out to be incredibly stable and great sounding.”

Apogee’s Symphony System is a combination of the Symphony 64 PCIe card, X-Series and/or Rosetta Series converters and an Apple Mac Pro creating one complete and extremely powerful recording solution. Leveraging the power of the Mac Pro, the Symphony 64 card offers incredibly low latency with up to 128 channels of I/O per computer surpassing any multi-DSP card based system. Completing the system, connect any combination of X-Series and Rosetta Series converters to the Symphony 64 card for Apogee’s legendary conversion creating a package built for maximum performance.
